Woman’s Benevolence Misinterpreted As Breastfeeding Propaganda
Getting geared up for parenting is not only emotionally overwhelming but can be financially draining too. Considering the costs of the baby stuff, most of the parents-to-be are happy taking second-hand supplies from their fellows. On the similar lines, a 32-year-old shared on Reddit, how her sharing was not taken as caring by one of her coworkers.
The 32-year-old worked with a nice group of ladies. They allshared a good bond and helped each other in budgeting by sharing their parenting supplies. The poster gave birth to her second baby last year and thus had many items not being used. Out of pure magnanimity, she decided to offer help to her fellow worker who was stepping into motherhood. The pregnant lady was pleased to receive the poster’s message offering her maternity clothes since they are quite expensive.
The happy-to-help writer packed up her maternity clothes including a few smart dresses and sweaters. With this, she also packed her nursing shirts that come with a slit at sides to help nursing mothers feed their child with ease. After the thoughtful lady handed over the goodie bag to her mate, there was a wave of awkward silence. The lady even texted her fellow worker but never received any reply.
All the bewilderment came to a halt when the poster heard the mother-to-be gossiping with another lady in the office’s washroom. The lady received a blow when she heard her friend giving a whole different angle to her act of kindness. The post further revealed that the pregnant woman was complaining about receiving the nursing clothes. The poster was being accused of pushing her fellow to breastfeed her child by giving her the same.
Not only these baseless accusations but the lady also received some name-calling such as ‘breast is best Nazis’. She further wrote that the receiver lady had already decided not to breastfeed her child. And so she alleged that the poster was trying to make her feel like a bad parent. The Reddit user clarified her intentions by saying she had no interest in knowing how others fed their kids.
None of the accusations had ever crossed her mind and she just wanted to help by donating all that she had. While she wasn’t able to think of a single logical reason behind this exaggeration of a trivial matter, the other lady crossed the limits. The matter soon became the ‘hot-talk’ of the office. The pregnant woman, in fact, thought of turning to the HR to complain about the negative work environment that she thought her colleague was creating.
The lady received many suggestions from her colleagues and the viewers. Some suggested her to apologize to her mate while others supported her noble intentions. One of the viewers worked in the HR department and reassured the lady that no action could be taken against her. Let’s just hope the two ladies reconcile their differences soon.
