Woman Accused Mom With New-Born Of Shoplifting Using Fake Baby

Womanhood July, 12, 2025

Larkin an elementary school teacher who hailed in Lacey, New Jersey shared this incident on a Facebook page named “Lacey township chatter”. She wrote how when she went to one of the Aldi stores for grocery shopping with her infant a woman told the cashier that Larkin was carrying a fake baby. The woman also speculated that Larkin had made an attempt to steal yogurt from the store by faking a baby.

Larkin was shocked and surprised to hear what the lady had told the cashier. For proving that she was not carrying a fake baby she posted a picture of herself smiling along with her sleeping baby in front of the store’s sign on the Facebook page. Along with the picture she wrote in the post “My baby is 100% real, Yogurts are like $.25 at Aldi stores and I’m lactose intolerant and don’t consume any dairy products at all.”

Sharing the incident through her post, Larkin wrote how the lady initially commented on how her hands were full to which she replied that’s mom life. The cashier later told her about the woman’s accusations. Larkins wrote how she and her husband were not offended and noted: “My husband and I had a good laugh about it, along with the cashier, who also thought it was ridiculous.”.

Larkin took the lady’s comments as compliments, she jokingly said that it meant her daughter is so cute that one can easily mistake her for a doll.

The post since posted has received response from all over the globe and there are thousands of comments flowing on her post. Some of the people commented: “cutest fake baby I’ve ever seen some said “I would’ve gone with butterball turkey. What a cutie”

The woman who accused Larkin also saw the post and she even responded to it. She noted: “It was me and I am not ashamed to say so, the baby was sleeping the entire time and was like a dead weight in her arms, as well as, being wrapped so I could only see the baby’s ear.”

“I did tell the cashier that I really hoped it was a baby,” she said. “As anyone in retail can tell you, shoplifting involving babies or baby items is quite common. I am quite glad your baby finally yawned on the checkout line so I knew all was ok.” She continued.

Although Aileen Krupa, the accuser was lightly roasted in the comments section of the post, justifying herself she wrote another comment stating: “I’m also not going to stop rescuing pets in the street, helping old ladies cross the road, or saying something if I think I see a crime.”

Amused rather than offended by the whole incident Larkin ender her post with the note: “I think it’s important to see the humour and the good in each situation, it’s easy to get stressed and down, especially as a mom running on little to no sleep.”
