This Mother Made 52 Movie Posters With Her Newborn Child For 52 Weeks

Talking about the idea, the mother explained that it was a mere coincidence and it all started with the Buzz Lightyear onesie. It was a gift. And as a token of appreciation, both Michelle and she thought it’d be cool to share a photo of Zoltan in the onesie. Then, they thought if they were going to take a photo anyway, instead of using the floor or our bed, why not set up a clean backdrop to make everything look better? Of course.

One thing led to another and they decided since they were already using a backdrop, they might as well take it another step ahead. Thus, arose the idea of using earbuds as stars, scarves as planets, drag the thermometer across the canvas like a shooting star, and while they were at it, photoshop the photo and turn it into a poster. Baby Zoltan was two months old at the time. And the couple decided to do this every weekend until Zoltan was one year old.

To prevent themselves from giving up this project halfway they set some ground rules. First and foremost was that this project should not add unnecessary stress; it should be fun and off of their minds until the day of the shoot. This is why they tend to just try to come up with a theme on the day of the shoot or the day before. And that was why we see lots of posters drawn from current events.

Secondly, they tried to do most of the effects on the material itself. If they could set up the scene using practical effects, they did. They wanted to utilize what they had around to increase the shot’s creativity and reduce the work needed for post-production. It was also way more fun making a stereo speaker using cast iron lids and lego pieces than just throw one in with photoshop.

Thirdly and the last rule they set up was a time limit for the photoshoot. They set a hard limit of 30 minutes per shoot. From finding the needed material to set up, to snapping the photo, the entire process took no more than 30 minutes, which worked out 99% of the time. Usually, it was Zoltan’s fault when they had to break this rule.

The equipment used for these shoots wasn’t very complicated and had just two basic equipment i.e. a Camera and Flash. The flash they used was the Canon 430EX Speedlite with the Cowboy Studio Speedlite trigger. And second, the camera used was the Olympus EM5 Mk II with the Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8. The photographs which have been shared have absolutely stolen our hearts. All the posters are pretty close to the originals. The recreations are spot on and show baby Zalton’s adorable antics in almost all of them. This might have started as something as a matter of chance but the result was surely pretty awe-worthy.
