Star Wars Collection Of A Man Rocked The ‘Fan World’
Lying in Edd’s garage with guitars, the Star Wars collection had always managed to grab his attention. The primary school teacher longed to give it an ample space that it deserved. His desire finally saw the light when he moved to Ton Pentre (Rhondda Cyon Taf) with his family. He took out his special collection and presented it proudly in a corner of his house.
His obsession was not limited to the collection of the integral bits of the series. It even influenced his choice when he was to christen his son. So as a result, his one-year-old son was christened as Finn (after a character played by John Boyega). The 36-year-old teacher had celebrated the long 30 years of his obsession by unveiling his collection.
Edd was grabbed by the shadow of the fanism when he saw the ‘Return of Jedi’ at the age of 6 in Cardiff. After that, he went on scaling new heights of fanism and collected the special bits of the series. His parents too helped him in shielding his hard work. The souls knew its importance in their son’s life. So they packed it assiduously in black bags. The bags were preserved for him.

Unfortunately, many of his friends were not that lucky. Their love was eventually trashed and thrown out of their lives. Edd was too caught by the constraints of his life but the subdued obsession continued to thrive in his heart. And with the ‘Force Awakens’ hitting the theatre screens, it evolved out and sprang back in its shape.
Edd shared that the film sparked his interest to dig everything out and complete his collection of original figures from 1977-1985. After counting on the members of his collection, he discovered that he was having 84 out of 96 figures. But he was adamant on his stance. Finally, he bought the last 4 figures for£ 200 from the Pumping Station. According to him, they included an R2D2, a Death Star Gunner, etc.
He described his collection to be priceless. Not just that, the pieces but the autographs of Star Wars cast too glorified his collection. The big personalities included Harrison Ford, Kenny Baker, Dave Prowse, etc.
He was receiving offers of hundreds of dollars from the anxious collectors but he declined to seal a sumptuous deal. According to him, he looked at the collection as an investment for the future of his kids.
Truly, Edd’s collection had set tremors across the fan world. People would draw inspiration from his collections to immortalize their obsessions.
