Mother Of Quintuplets Shares The Struggle Of Toilet Training
Mummy Blogger Kim Tucci shares her experience of motherhood with her readers. She shared that the already mother of three children tried to have one more child with her partner Vaughn to complete their family. The Australian mother already had a 12-year-old son Kurt from her previous marriage and two daughters with Vaughn Ava, eight and Indiana, six.
But the couple’s happiness was increased five times as Kim conceived quintuplets which are a very rare case in Australia and otherwise. The conceived quintuplets naturally which happen one-in-55-million odd chances. Although the couple was happy with the news once they were born the real struggle started and Kim shared it online. The 30-year-old mother shared her chaotic life struggle with everyone. The real-life struggle began when her kids started potty training.
She shared in her blog ‘Surprised by Five’ that “You should keep nappies everywhere – including the car and the garage. There are times when I haven’t had enough on me and there has been a poo explosion.” She shared that the couple went through major poop explosion last year and they had to undergo at least 30 pairs of pants in a day.
Having eight children under the age of 12 is not easy especially when they are potty training altogether. She learned it the hard way that if she needs to make sure everything goes smoothly and less chaotically she has to distract all of them. Their biggest distraction was the toilet brush which helped Kim a lot. She recommended other parents that “They’ll all just be playing with it and trying to put it in their mouths without realizing it’s not to be eaten.”
The parents make sure that they spend quality time with their kids which can be challenging sometimes. But they have a routine of going to the beach and make sandcastles. The couple also rewards the quintuplets for a good week of potty training. And usually, the family of 10 goes to McDonald’s which cost them roughly £50.
The couple is very organized when it comes to the routine of their children and eating habits. They are always stocked up with healthy food. And the couple spends £170 on their food shopping spree every week. That shopping spree includes 70 pieces of fruit and 20 liters of milk for sure other than that giant block of cheese is mandatory for the family.
Just like any other toddler or teenager, their children are also fussy about green vegetables and healthy food. But Kim has found a solution for it and she shared “I turn that into a pasta sauce and add some meat sometimes and they have no idea they’re getting so much veg.” So she usually mixes all the veggies with pasta sauce to make sure her children are eating healthy. There are some really good motherhood tips and hacks on her blogs.
