Mother-In-Law Demands To Meet Her Grandchildren During Pandemic
One woman does not particularly love her mother-in-law but still respects and cares for her as a person and because of their relationship. Her mother-in-law is assertive, dominating, and rude. Even under difficult situations, her mother-in-law is adamant about the fact that she should bring her grandchildren to her for a visit. Even though they live in different states and both the states have a high number of people affected by the coronavirus.
She shared: “I can’t stand her. I don’t really talk to her at all.” Her luck came through when her mother-in-law moved out of the states. It has been six months that she is happy because of the move of her mother-in-law. The woman’s husband broke the news that his parents will be coming home to visit them. She further shared that he casually mentioned about their visit to them.
She shared “he casually mentions that he’s going to take the kids over one night this week to visit.” Her reaction might seem dramatic but given the situation was written. She wrote: “Over my dead body will he be taking my kids to visit anyone when we live in the worst and most affected state for c-virus, in an area with a lot of confirmed cases.”
In the state with the most amount of c-virus cases, MIL insists on seeing the kids. She drove up here from FL. Not my problem from JUSTNOMIL
She was worried about her kids and her in-laws as well because her mother-in-law is suffering from asthma and it does not make things easy for her. Her husband did not what she liked and just rolled his eyes. She shared her conversation with her mother-in-law where she said: “wasn’t sure if [the OP] knew we were in town since we haven’t heard from you.” She finished her words with a fake laugh.
She further added that she knew that the OP did not want her to meet her kids and said: “if it makes you feel better, I’ll have my doctor write a note saying I am healthy, and then, you don’t have any excuse not to let them come over.” She demanded she drop the kids on Sunday and pick them on Monday because they drove all the way to meet them.
The woman wrote: “I know it’s not impossible for kids to get it, but you would think she would have the sense to realize that she is putting herself at risk. I don’t care if baby Jesus himself writes a note.” The mom further wrote: “She’s making me seem like a jerk when I have never ever kept my kids from seeing her even when she and I were on horrible terms.” She did not ask her mother-in-law to drive to meet her grandchildren especially when there are special guidelines for older people.
