Mother Has 57 Kids But Only 2 Are Real

Lifestyle July, 05, 2025

It all started when Silvia, mother to two biological daughters-Veronica and Sofia received a refurbished doll for her 40th birthday from her kids. They named the lifelike doll Isabella and she quickly became a part of their small family. It was then that the maternal emotions in Silvia aroused and she began considering dolls as her own children and this is how she ended up being a mother to another 54 reborn dolls.

Each doll has its own name, hobby and talent- Demi, a ginger-mopped doll is a wanderer while Toby likes to skateboard. A group of other dolls enjoy playing piano or the violin and also appreciate a good shopping and dining experience.

Silvia, who now runs a doll nursery, has learnt the art of doll making to give new life to dead dolls, something that otherwise costs around 200-500 Australian Dollars. This talent has also, given her the gift of bringing joy to aspiring parents. One of her special creations is the Aboriginal doll-Biralee that comes with a diaper, blanket and a headdress. She mentions that she adores tucking her babies into bed, taking them out, dressing them in Victorian gowns to resemble a Japanese Geisha.

Silvia in this beautiful journey has also brought joy to parents who have lost their kids; in one such instance she made a customised doll resembling the dead premature child of a woman while her own kids include twin picnickers Kirsten and Katherine, and Arianna who is often seen publicly shopping with her mommy. She dresses all her kids according to the occasion or the festival and flaunts her family with enormous amount of pride, so much so that she doesn’t even remember the amount of money she has invested in these dolls.

However, being a mother to 57 kids is difficult and she finds it tough to take all her kids out at once, and so she has grouped them fairly. In addition to this she has self-painted a nursery for her family. Her Instagram is full of pictures of her babies in everyday poses, she says, “I’ve always loved dolls and I fell in love with reborns when Isabella arrived. I’ve also always loved art and craft and I knew I wanted to help create reborn dolls. It is a real passion of mine. Each baby is unique and different from the others and that’s what I love about them. They bring happiness to my life.”

Definitely an unusual hobby but as they say, being YOUnique is what keeps you going.
