Mother Gave A Dose Of Pragmatism By Hitting At Lunchbox-Critics
Not each one of us is same on all the parameters. Some are good at one set of things and others are not. Thus, every soul requires a different platter of things to thrive and bloom. Pointing these facts to the world, a mother hit back at the critics of her kids’ lunchboxes.
It is not easy for the mother of three to pay attention to the requirements of her every kid. She has to juggle with the things and their preferences. Adding to her worries is the fact that her kids are autistic. Thus, she has to pack their lunchboxes with the utmost care and attention.
Not just the fate of her life but the society also added to her agonies. Many parents started pouring out their opinions about the lunchboxes of her autistic children. Some of them called them “plain”. Others crowned them with other titles. As the time ticked by, her patience reached its limits and finally breached the mark. Pouring out her dismay, she stepped into the Facebook world.
She took a snap of the lunchboxes for her kids and posted on her page. Then she went ahead to pop a challenge for the Facebook users. She asked them to guess which of her kids did not suffer from autism.
The picture presented boxes of 3 colors- red, blue and green. The red and blue boxes contained biscuits, crackers, sandwiches and a muffin. On the other hand, the green lunchbox presented a platter having a banana, strawberries and cheese.
Then she threw light on her tough moments by saying, “Honestly, though, I think this picture proves that even kids with the plainest lunchboxes, with things that aren’t really considered healthy, still have families who care about them. Just having food they will eat is most important”.
After a few moments, answers started to flood her page. Bringing out the right hit, the child with the green lunch box was free from the clutches of autism. Taking on that, she said, “Green is correct. He gets the blue sandwich box as well”.
Grabbing her dare, many souls turned up to applaud her post. One of them said, “Of course, some days it may come back hardly eaten but you are packing a great lunch and no one has a place to judge otherwise”.
Another soul commented, “My daughter is ASD. She has the same thing everyday! Nutella sandwich only cut in two rectangles, a vanilla yoghurt, a banana or nectarine, popcorn, salt and vinegar chips and a popper. Whatever works I say”.
One more soul threw more light and said, “This is hard for me as I have two girls on the spectrum and they have very different eating habits. One loves all kinds of fruit and eats no form of bread whereas the other eats anything bread and only bananas and apples. It’s amazing when you look at how different all our kids are, even those not on the spectrum”.
Hopefully, the post would have made parents open up enough space for the air of pragmatism.
