Mother Finds A Sweet Note On Scales From Her Son
Mother of two Kelly McCarron, who lives in Perth, Australia, had been for a long time trying to loose her weight along with her husband Ruairi. They had changed their diet plan and exercise schedule in their bid to lose weight. Their ritual basically goes on to fast for 16 hours and eating moderately in the rest eight hours. The 35 year-old explained that she used to weight 55 kilograms, but she had now put on nine kilos since the past two years which she says ‘was wearing her down’.
Being a mother of two, she commented that she used to put herself last as she had two children to look after. This led her to turn towards food for comfort and leading to increase in weight and her becoming obsessed by it.
She commented, “My husband and I have been trying to get fit since January, Ruarai has lost nine kilos but I haven’t. I used to weigh 55 kilos but now currently weigh 64 kg so I’ve put on 9 kg in the last two odd years which I understand isn’t obese but I would like to go back to my old self.” After some time, she noticed that her children were becoming really helpful around the house for some days which, she says, never happened before.

“But I thought I’ll enjoy whilst I can, and then the following day I saw a piece of paper on the scales, I was going to throw it in the bin.” The note was written by her son Jack, 12 who stuck on it so that her mother would notice. “It read: does it matter? And then I realized, it absolutely doesn’t- I noticed that I would mainly weigh myself when I am not feeling great about myself.”
“Sometimes my daughter steps on and copies me and I tell her immediately to get off and remind her she doesn’t need to weigh herself. The note from Jack made me realize, I should take my advice for myself too and stop it.” Her Facebook post about the same became popular and got more than 1100 likes.
Kelly liked to add that when she asked him about it, he said it was to be nice. However she might secretly thinks it’s because he wanted a new Nintendo game. Either way, his note made her feel good about herself. In the end, it’s a win-win situation for both.
