Mother Asks Parents To Put Aside Insecurities And Take Pictures With Children

Lifestyle July, 15, 2025

Nowadays, when a memory is just a click of a phone away, it’s high likely that your phone isn’t filled with thousands of pictures of your children doing all sorts of stuff that are too cute to miss. It’s pretty amazing now that we can document each and everyday of our children and how they can relive each moment easily. But have you ever thought about how many pictures you have with your children?

Parents, especially mothers at their early ‘after baby’ days, tend to forget about themselves. It’s no wonder that while we gave our full attention to our kids, we easily tend to forget about ourselves and don’t think about how many amazing memories with ‘us’ that they won’t be able to relive.

At first, you won’t notice the impact but our super mom here has given a perfect example that such little things do have some repercussions in the future.

Transparency : One thing Ive learned after my mother died was the importance of taking pictures. I wish I had more of my mom and I. Regrettably because of my difficult pregnancy I didn't document much of that process either. If I could do it all over again!!! : : Listen take pictures. Without warning. Take pictures. Without posing. Take pictures. Book photoshoots. Hell I don't care. Just take pictures, one day pictures maybe all they have left. As an adult I find myself looking through the few pictures I do have of my mom. Zooming in on her hands comparing them to mine. Her eyes, her smile. I wish he had the chance to meet her. For now all we have are pictures. ❤#mybravestspace #harrisonstrong #preemiestrong #plussizemom ? @mjonesimaging

In a powerful post, Shaina Harrison shares that her mother’s death had a deep impact on her relationship with her children. She emphasized the importance of taking pictures with our kids. Because only when her mother died, did she realize that she doesn’t have enough pictures with her mother and that pretty much hit her hard.

In an Instagram post with her adorable son, Shaina wrote, “One thing I’ve learned after my mother died was the importance of taking pictures. I wish I had more of my mum and I. Though she doesn’t have many pictures with her mother, she cherishes the one she does have. And also wants that her son has loads of pictures, so that he can relive every stage and moment with his mother. Often our insecurities makes us believe that we aren’t looking ‘good enough’ to be in a picture, but many times we tend to forget that we are missing out on so much because of this.
