Mom Created Spiderman Challenge To Keep Son Busy With A String

Lifestyle July, 03, 2025

Covid-19 pandemic has brought a sudden break to all the activities all over the world. The pandemic has brought about lockdown in more than eighty percent of the world and this has also meant most of the world staying indoors for over a month now. With such a pandemic scare, families are doing their best to keep their kids entertained as shown by Claire Nelson-Syme. She took to Facebook where she had posted a video of the obstacle course that she had set up for her son to help him use his energy effectively.

The obstacle aptly named the Spiderman Challenge kept her four-year-old entertained during the lockdown. She captioned her post “Keeping a 4-year-old occupied during the lockdown, all you need is a string.” To create the challenge, Claire had simply used a ball of string to weave a “web” across her living room with the aim of the game being to get from one side to the other without getting tangled.

And in the video posted, her son can be seen trying to wiggle his way through the web while dressed as Spiderman. The clip has since gone viral, receiving over 100,000 views with Claire joking that she would have “tidied her living room” had she known of the massive hit the video would be. Fellow parents were quick to praise her ideas in the comments, with one writing about how brilliant the idea was and they were rushing to go and buy a string. Another joked that their child would just simply rip through it. And the third added that they were attempting to build this.

These are the times that kids have a lot of extra energy and would get pretty anxious and restless if they are not given any outlet. Such activities make the kids use both their mind and also physical energy which keeps their excessive energy in check. Thus, making the lockdown period a bit more bearable for both the family and the kids altogether.
