The man reached out to Reddit and mentioned that he and his fiancée dated for only 8 months before she got pregnant. The newly became dad stated in his post that both the parents agreed on getting married after the baby was born. He introduced her to his family who was more than happy with the situation and took care of her like their own daughter.

Actually, while the two of them were dating, the OP learnt that she was engaged to someone before they both met. Prior to the demise of her former fiancée, they were together for about four years. However, it looks like she was not over her ex. The new dad recalled that his fiancée claimed of having recurrent dreams about her lapsed boyfriend. But he was considerate enough to understand that dreams weren’t in her control and he was okay with it. However, she does visit her ex’s grave on birthdays and mumbled his name every now and then. More importantly, she still has rings that belonged to her former fiancée.

He recalled that she almost shattered and cried on the way to the hospital which made the situation much more difficult to handle. Thankfully, he had the back of his fiancée’s mother and they both handled the situation quite maturely. Then came the crushing moment when she started yelling all of a sudden and started screaming the name of her deceased father at first and then her late ex-fiancée’s name breathlessly. This made the new dad devastated and left him speechless.

On top of that, a nurse came to him and called him by her dead fiancée’s name which was quite embarrassing. After all this, he went back into the room to calm her down but was frustrated when she continued saying the name of her departed fiancée. He ultimately went out. He exclaimed that he felt completely “awful”. Yet, he held it together and went back into the room when his son was born.

Exactly opposite to what was expected to happen, his fiancée started yelling at him for leaving her alone at that time and claimed that what he did was “unacceptable”. He calmly explained to her why he left but she cleverly ignored the thing and threw the fault on his shoulders. According to her, she remembered the two most important people in her life at that time. After this, his fiancée started living with her mother and the OP was left completely shattered.

In the end, the OP came to the conclusion that his fiancée was punishing him by keeping him away from his son. In her defense, the fiancée told him to respect her feeling if she wanted to cool off at her mother’s house. However, the audience had mixed comments on the matter.
