Footballer Took Stepfather By Storm, Publicly Adopted His Last Name
George Grimwade Musto decided to show his affection towards his stepdad, who had raised the twenty-two-year-old footballer no less than his child. Ever since he was a young boy of about eight years, Michael Musto, his stepfather had been by his side, not only as a dad but also as a mentor and guide. And while most people prefer maintaining cordial and limited relationships with their step-parent(s), George wanted to let the world know how much Michael truly meant to him.
So the footballer, who plays as the offensive lineman, along with his team from Samford University, Alabama decided to share their joy with a large gaggle of people. George went onto share an extremely emotional video on his college’s official social media page with a heartfelt message, where he stated that Michael had always been his dad, and had raised him with utmost care and affection since grade two.
The camera then faces Michael, where George tells him that he means the world to him, and without him, his life becomes clueless and directionless. And then he announces that it is about time, he pays back the love Michael has showered George with by legally changing his last name, to carry on the Musto legacy. Although the name changing was complete by the month of September, yet he waited until the best moment- Samford University family weekend, to announce the big news.
On their game day, the player approached his father with some legal papers and then mentioned that he adores his stepdad and the time the two of them spend together is very cherishable to him, and so as a gesture to show Michael that he means the world to George, the latter got his name changed. He then turns back to reveal his jersey which says, Musto.
In the video one can see, Michael brimming with pride and joyful tears. And as the father-son duo embrace each other the camera turns to show how everyone present to witness the amazing moment too had their eyes well up.
So, Mr. Shakespeare, you see now, what’s in a name?
