Daughter Dresses Up As Dad On School’s Superhero Day
An 11-year-old girl, Aubrey Archuleta from Colorado did something totally unexpected for her school’s superhero day and showed the special bond she and her father share. When there was a superhero day in her local school, instead of dressing as Wonder Woman or Iron Man like every other kid in her class, she preferred to dress like her dad, Brain Hills. This superhero day was held at Aubrey’s school just a week later of the Valentine’s Day dance. The school organized events like this to raise the morale and spirit of children and help them gain confidence.
On being asked that why she chose her dad as her favorite superhero, the 11-year-old’s answer left everyone in tears. She said “dads should always be a girl’s superhero”. When her dad came to know about this, he said his ‘heart exploded’.
He added “My heart figuratively exploded. I felt I had reached the pinnacle of Dad-ness. Being a parent has its inherent challenges at times. I think all parents just want to know they’re doing something right. This was that moment for me.” He continued “We try to teach our children well. Moments like that are our rewards.”

In one community on Facebook, Brain shared this loving story and since then, the post has generated more than 11,000 likes. He wrote “My daughter dressed as me this morning she’s supposed to dress as her favorite superhero for school today.I began to give her ideas, but she immediately interrupted and said: ‘No, I want to dress as you, Dad.’ He added “She pieced the whole thing together herself and completely nailed it. BEST DAD MOMENT EVER!!”
Aubrey isn’t living with her biological mother and lives with her dad, stepmother and stepsister Bella. Brain describes his family as a ‘beautiful, blended family’. Brain added “We are a great family. And we are known for dressing up and being silly. So, it was natural for Aubrey to as well. We all dress in outlandish festive wear for holidays. And I have emulated movie characters when visiting places for example Alan from The Hangover while in Las Vegas and Rocky Balboa while visiting Philadelphia.”
According to Brain, as Aubrey lives with such an amazing family so she values every bond with every person and created a beautiful memory for him that he will cherish for the rest of his life.
