Bridezilla Still Wants Gifts Even Though The Wedding Was Cancelled Due To Pandemic

Lifestyle July, 02, 2025

The sudden calling off of a wedding puts even the friends, family in a tough position, especially when it is about the wedding gifts.A bride managed to escape herself from this awkwardness by actually mailing guests telling them that they can still send in wedding cash. However, her cousin did not appear to get along with this act of hers at all.Let’s have a closer look into this matter.

A recent post said that he and her cousin have never been compatible as people. His cousin had to cancel her own wedding. He wrote that the culture in his family has always been like the guests giving gifts to the bride as well as the groom.

The original poster’s cousin had this witty idea of emailing and announcingto the wedding guests about the cancellation and at the same time giving them the option to send in money regardless of cancellation. It was later added that his cousin soon had sent in emails of thanks to all the guests who could send in the wedding cash. The cousin went onto the extent of jotting down the names of people to whom she had mailed a thanks.

Meanwhile, their moms got involved. The cousin’s mom happened to ask him if he was in some sort of financial problem. His mother asked the original poster to send some money, but warned that he could be refused. The Redditor was not interested in giving his cousin even a penny, so he said that he couldn’t see how the other side of the family being too poor to afford the wedding, had anything to do with him.

Someone commented that if the wedding had been cancelled then there was no need for a present. They found it rude that she was asking for money/present, another added.Well we have a bunch of some more really good comments flashing our ways. Willshe be going to expect another gift when she will actually be getting married, someone added thoughtfully.A third commenter advised that he would be sending an email back to the whole group asking if cousin had some financial issues, which was why she’d been begging for money for a big life event that has not happened yet, so don’t give money to people who haven’t got married.

The Cousin was an expletive for chasing down gifts and tried to guilt people into giving, but the wedding had been canceled due to circumstances beyond her control, and she and her fiancé had been still planning to get married, so the original poster should still pony up the gift, someonecommented very explicitly. Times like these we need to support people who are having their lives majorly impacted by COVID-19 and if there was ever a time for a wedding guest to go above and beyond, that time was now.
