Bride Slams Sister For Wearing A Wedding Dress To Ceremony
An anonymous woman got married four years ago in a very close ceremony with only her immediate family involved. She wore the same wedding dress to her sister-in-law’s wedding four years later.
She was then accused of ruining her sister-in-law’s big day.
Explaining her side of the story the woman said that the dress she wore was neither white nor a gown. Moreover, it was not even recognizable as a traditional wedding dress. Instead, it was a navy, knee-length A-line dress which she agreed that she wears at least a few times in a year to events like weddings and graduation parties.
So, when her sister-in-law’s wedding came around, she decided to wear it again.
When the bride recognized the dress, she had a sudden meltdown and accused the woman of trying to upstage her.
The bride even told other guests that the woman did it purposely to ruin her wedding day. Even though the people were confused because her dress did not look like a wedding dress.
The woman’s mother-in-law insisted her to apologize to the bride for ruining the wedding. Her husband supported the woman but the woman wanted to handle the situation herself. However, she feels that apologizing would probably make things blow over faster.
She then shared the whole scenario on Reddit and concluded her post by asking whether they thought she was wrong or not but the majority of the people were in her favor.
One person said: “I assume your sister-in-law was at your wedding and would recognize your wedding dress.”
Another person pointed out that her dress was a non-traditional dress which is the reason why it was alright for her to wear it at her sister-in-law’s wedding.
Some other person commented that the woman was careless with someone else’s big day and it looks bad. The user considered her to be socially insensitive.
Other users came to her defense and said that the bride was overreacting because the woman had worn the dress to a number of other occasions and not just hers.
One wrote: “If the dress wasn’t white, wasn’t a gown, and wouldn’t have been recognized as a wedding dress, then it just seems to me like sister-in-law decided to create drama out of nothing.”
A third person said that since the woman wears the dress frequently it is no longer a wedding dress now.
Another person exclaimed that it was embarrassing that the bride made such a big scene out of it.
