Woman Received A Bill Of £60 For Not Attending Friend’s Wedding

Lifestyle July, 10, 2025

It was a beautiful day for Jessica. She was bracing herself up to show up at her friend’s wedding. She might have planned the entire day to cherish the special occasion. Her husband too was all ready to accompany her for the wedding. But then the phone rang. Jessica’s mother was the caller who was supposed to look after the kids as her daughter had to attend the wedding.

The call altered the entire plan of the day and shattered the joyous moments of Jessica. Her mother told her that she could not look after her grandkids. That was a big blow to the couple who was all set to leave for the wedding. The situation was really bad for them as there was a ‘no kid’ clause on the invitation card. The bride and groom did not want to entertain any kid on their wedding. So the matter got worse for Jessica and her husband as they could not take their two kids along with them.

Finally, they cancelled their day and did not go to attend the wedding. The couple had moved on and the wedding matter had managed to slip out of their minds. However after a few weeks, the matter evolved again and set tremors in their lives. Jessica received a bill of £60 through post. It was sent to her for not attending the wedding. According to her, it had listed that they would have had two herb crusted walleye and there was also a service charge and tax.

Not just that, the bill said that the cost reflected the amount paid by the groom and bride for the meals that were RSVP’d for-reimbursement and explanation for no show, call, card or text would be appreciated. The frowned woman looked hard at it. She was not sure of the reply but had strongly asserted that she would not be paying for the meals.

The matter had divided the social media world into two parts. Some of them backed her stance. According to Brittany-one of her supporters, that was horribly rude. She applauded her move and said that they should not have to pay for the meals. She added that the bride and groom should have realized that the babysitter cancelled at the last moment.

There were many who brought out the possible fact that Jessica had not intimated her friend about her helplessness. Taking on that part, Jacqueline said that the note was rude but also so was not showing up without any explanation.

The matter has unveiled both the sides that are two cods of the same pea.
